We use Asana heavily, but I still could not see how all the pieces of our conversions fit together. So I built something that shows it.
We are in the middle of two conversions right now. Between them there are numerous vendors and systems that connect in.
We run everything through Asana and it works well for what it does. Tasks, owners, dates. But I kept hitting the same thing. I could see all the work, but I could not see how it fit together.
So I built ProjectMap.
Built with a lot of help from Claude, Claude Code, with some support from ChatGPT. It runs on Cloudflare, same as some of the newer tools I have put together. Sign-in and permissions are built in, so an organization only sees their own projects, and I can give someone view access or let them edit. It has proven to be a real working tool so far.
It puts the primary platform in the middle and shows every connector coming off it, with status on all of them. Click one and it opens up with what the system is, how the data flows, the timeline, who is involved, and the milestones attached to it. There is a list view for when the map is not what you need, and a task view that pulls everything open into one spot.
It is still early and I change something most weeks. But it does what I wanted it to do and it was a lot of fun making.
